Podthology

"Quite the operation you have here, Matthew," Mr. Griffiths remarked, adjusting his grey suit jacket, making himself as comfortable as possible in the rubbery plastic chair. "Lots of technical stuff I see," he eyed the table, the surrounding bookshelves stuffed full of papers, hard drives laid to rest, spindles of CDs and his gaze stopped at a large whiteboard covered in strange figures. The man’s forehead wrinkled up slightly into a worried expression. Matthew ignored it, "yes, we’re in our very own high tech cave and it keeps getting smaller."
     "Smaller?"
"By all the accumulating crap we refuse to throw out!" Joked another man who had been unseen behind a large monitor.
"Oh, sorry Mr. Griffiths, this is my associate, Roger." Matthew gestured over to Roger, whose too-wide grin looked menacing in the monitor screen light.
"Hello Roger." Mr. Griffiths shifted around in his chair, eyeing the room for any further potential hidden programmers. The suited man smiled but his forehead’s collection of worried wrinkles remained in place. He turned back to the man in the lab coat, "Matthew, is anyone else going to be involved?"
"Nope, just you, me and occasional help from Roger here."  Roger kept baring all his teeth, looking quite pleased with himself.
The older man composed himself, sat up and cleared his throat, "Of course. I suppose we wouldn’t need much help, we have us after all," he pointed to the room in a circle. "Me, and scientists like you two."
Matthew smiled, "Yes, that’s true. Though, we wouldn’t be doing this if there wasn’t so much that is unknown."
"Yes, yes, of course, of course. Ahem, well, yes, we will definitely bring that unknown into the truth of the light now won’t we, yes?"
"Yes, Mr. Griffiths," Matthew hid his smile behind a new DVD disk. "OK, we’re about ready."
     "Ready?"
"Yes, to record your first podcast," the young researcher slipped the disk into the drive and typed something into the keyboard.
